Introducing the Marstek Venus A: smart solar storage for small homes

Introducing the Marstek Venus A: smart solar storage for small homes

We’re opening a new chapter in home solar storage with the Marstek Venus A. Designed as an easy first step into smart energy management, the Marstek Venus A is a modular solar storage system designed to bring flexible solar energy storage also to smaller  homes. With up to 2.4 kW of solar input, or 4 solar panels, and storage expandable to 12.72 kWh, the Marstek Venus A gives you room to grow, protect your essentials during outages, and cut your electricity bills with intelligent charging.

What is the Marstek Venus A?

The Marstek Venus A is a plug-in solar storage system for home use. It can work with or without solar panels wired directly to it.

You connect the Marstek Venus A to your home network with a Schuko cable, so it can:

  • Charge from your solar panels
  • Charge from the grid when electricity is cheaper
  • Supply 1,200 W of AC output for your home consumption

The main unit includes:

  • A micro inverter
  • A controller
  • 2.12 kWh of built-in storage

At a glance, the Marstek Venus A offers:

  • Up to 2.4 kW of solar input (PV) across 4 MPPTs
  • Connection for up to 4 solar panels directly to the main unit
  • 1,200 W output power for everyday home use
  • Backup mode to keep essential devices running during power cuts
  • Storage expandable up to 12.72 kWh with expansion batteries
  • Compatibility with Smart Meter and Smart Box for intelligent control

How does the Marstek Venus A work with your solar installation and the grid?

The Marstek Venus A is designed to adapt to your home, not the other way around. It can store energy from three sources:

  • Solar panels connected directly to the main unit
  • Your existing solar installation, through the home network
  • The grid, when prices are low

In practice, you can:

  • Connect up to 4 panels directly and use the 4 MPPT inputs to capture up to 2.4 kW of solar power.
  • Let the Marstek Venus A store surplus solar energy from your current system via the Schuko cable, without rewiring your installation.
  • Charge from the grid in off-peak hours and use that energy later, when your tariff is more expensive.

Smart charging modes use your consumption pattern, your solar production and your tariff to decide when to charge and when to discharge automatically.

How much can you store with the Marstek Venus A?

The Marstek Venus A is modular by design. Storage grows with your needs.
The main unit includes 2.12 kWh of storage. You then add expansion batteries, each providing 2.12 kWh more capacity. You can stack up to 5 expansion batteries.

That means:

  • 1 × main unit → 2.12 kWh
  • 1 × expansion battery → 4.24 kWh total
  • 2 × expansion battery → X.XX kWh total
  • 3 × expansion battery → X.XX kWh total
  • 4 × expansion battery → X.XX kWh total
  • 5 × expansion batteries → 12.72 kWh total storage

This modular setup allows you to grow your storage capacity according to your needs. You can start with the main unit and one or two expansion batteries, then add more as your consumption or your system grows — all without construction work or changes to your electrical installation.

With up to 12.72 kWh of storage, the Marstek Venus A can keep your essential devices running for many hours using solar energy instead of the grid. In Southern Europe it covers over 3 days of average electricity consumption of a household, making solar work for you also on days with less sunshine.

Smart control of the Marstek Venus A with Smart Meter, Smart Box and the app

The Marstek Venus A works intelligently with the Marstek Smart Meter and Smart Box. Together, they turn your solar system into a smart home energy setup.

With Smart Meter and Smart Box, the Marstek Venus A can:

  • Measure your home’s energy flows in real time
  • Decide when to store, release or pause energy
  • Help you avoid exporting surplus to the grid (zero-export)

From the Marstek app, you can:

  • Monitor production, consumption, storage and savings
  • Choose between self-consumption, AI-based optimisation, manual schedules or backup mode
  • Adjust behaviour with just a few taps on your phone

The goal is simple: capture as much of your solar production as possible and use it at the most convenient time, automatically.

Who is the Marstek Venus A for?

The Marstek Venus A is a strong fit if you:

  • Already have a solar installation and want compact, modular storage without changing your setup
  • Are planning a new solar system and want a battery that can grow with you
  • Want to charge from the grid when prices are low and use that energy when prices are high
  • Need backup power for essential devices during outages
  • Want a storage solution that works with Smart Meter and Smart Box in a single, integrated system

Why choose the Marstek Venus A?

  • More flexibility. Use it with new or existing solar installations, with or without panels connected directly.
  • More control. Smart charging from solar and the grid, with clear modes in the app.
  • More storage, your way. Expand from 2.12 kWh up to 12.72 kWh over time with modular batteries.
  • More peace of mind. Backup mode keeps your essentials running during power cuts.
  • More compatibility. The Marstek Venus A works intelligently with Smart Meter, Smart Box and virtually any solar setup.

The Marstek Venus A brings modular solar storage to everyday homes, so you can store the energy you produce, use less from the grid, and stay prepared for outages.
